The best weight loss program is one that you stick to. Most people who decide to lose weight, typically sign up for a gym membership or go and join some weight loss program.

After 2 or 3 weeks when they do not see their efforts bearing fruit, they throw in the towel and say that the program does not work.Really? Did the program not work or did they not put in enough work?

While it’s true that some exercise is better than no exercise, the truth of the matter is that if you wish to lose weight, you really want to see the flab disappearing. Only visible results can keep you motivated to stay with the program.

How expensive is the program? Will you need to take out a second mortgage on your house to afford it? There is absolutely no need to fork out money on an expensive gym membership or get a personal trainer to keep you on track.

As mentioned earlier, the P90X, Insanity or Tae Bo workouts come in a set of DVDs. These are a small investment that you can use to shred the fat off your body very effectively.

They are way cheaper than a gym membership and much more convenient since you can workout at home. Far too many people think that they’re actually doing something by spending money on gym attire, workout equipment, supplements, etc.

The only thing that they’ve done is spend money… when all they really need to do is watch their diet and exercise till they’re soaking in perspiration. You don’t need to take a bank loan for that.

This is a crucial point to note. If you are overweight, and you’ve led a sedentary lifestyle for years, never ever start on a training program that is high-intensity.

There are methods such as Tabata or HIIT that require immense effort. If your body is not accustomed to exercise, these workouts are going to be excruciating, and you may even hurt yourself.

So, if you’re choosing a workout program, do check that there are modules for beginners or the program is designed for beginners. Do not get an advanced program and think that you will struggle and cope with it just to get faster results. This is actually counter-productive.

Your body will go into shock because of the load you place on your central nervous system. It will hit a plateau, and you will not see any results no matter what you do. Challenge yourself moderately but do not overdo it.
