1. Fast for 24 hours once or twice a week
Do not eat anything for 24 hours. You may drink water. Of course, this will be difficult initially. So, you should try fasting for 12 hours, then 14 hours and slowly build up till you can last without food for 24 hours.
When done once or twice a week, your overall calorie consumption will be less, and it is inevitable that you will lose weight. Do NOT fast for two back to back days. Always have a meal once your 24 hours are up.
2. Drink ice water while in a fasted state
When you wake up in the morning, drink a glass or two of ice water. This will boost your metabolic rate for about an hour. It will help with fat loss.
3. Train on an empty stomach
You should always train on an empty stomach. A high-intensity 15 or 20-minute workout will force your body to tap into its fat stores for fuel. Since you’re in a fasted state, glycogen levels will be low, and your body will have no choice but to burn the fat.
Do not work out for more than 20 minutes.
4. Use smaller plates for your food
This will help fool your brain into thinking you have eaten a lot. Your portion sizes will be smaller, and that means you will be ingesting fewer calories.
5. Go on a carb cycling program
Do not consume carbohydrates for 2 or 3 days. After this short period, the following day should comprise of high carb meals. You should use healthy carbs such as quinoa or oatmeal. This will put your body in fat burning mode again.
During the low-carb days, your body will tap into its fat stores for fuel and your blood sugar levels will be stable. Since there are no insulin spikes, you will be less prone to fat storage. However, after 2 or 3 days, your metabolism will start slowing down. That is when you have a high carb day.
This will shock your body and boost its metabolic rate. You will be back in fat burning mode and will have the energy to last for another 2 or 3 low carb days. By doing this over a period, you will shed the fat much faster and be able to keep it off too.
